Description

The Seagate IronWolf Pro 16TB is a 3.5-inch internal hard drive built for professional NAS storage. This exact SKU is ST16000NE000 and uses a SATA 6Gb/s interface, with support for multi-bay NAS environments.

It runs at 7200 RPM with 256MB of cache and CMR recording. Seagate specifies a maximum sustained transfer rate of up to 255MB/s for the 16TB model. SATA 6Gb/s is the interface bandwidth and should not be confused with the sustained read or write speed of the disk.

The drive is rated for a 300TB/year workload and is designed for continuous 24×7 operation. Seagate lists support for systems with up to 24 drive bays, rotational vibration sensors for multi-drive environments, hot-plug support and AgileArray optimisation for NAS and RAID use.

The ST16000NE000 uses 512e sector formatting and is specified for 1.2 million hours MTBF. A compatible SATA host connection and a free 3.5-inch internal bay are required.
